Aug 21, 2017 a total solar eclipse will be viewable from parts of South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Oregon. At least 75 state parks, preserves or historical sites will be in the path.

I want to build a hundred or so (more if I can automate the process) wooden eclipse viewers and pinhole cameras that take actual photos of the eclipse. These cameras and viewers will be about the size of a shoe box. The outer surfaces of the box will have places to display the photographs. The box will also have a hinged lid and can be used as a little treasure chest.
Here are examples of wooden pinhole cameras:

I would love to have at least one in each state along the path of the eclipse with which to take pictures of the parks, reserves, historical sites and the eclipse itself for myself. I can go to a site (between now and 2017), take a picture then use that photo to adorn an outside surface of the box. The other surfaces will be used to display photos of the eclipse. I cannot travel fast enough across eight states in order to be there to photograph the eclipse nor do I know anyone in South Carolina, Georgia, Nebraska, Wyoming or Oregon.
I also want to market them along the path via clever Google search parameters and ship them. When people along the path Google the eclipse, I want my website to pop up. There are lots of videos that show you how to make viewers and cameras with cardboard and tin foil. My product will be unique in that it creates a permanent record of the event, can easily be reused as a camera and/or treasure chest and perhaps become a beautiful family heirloom because it continues to create itself.
I have invited 4 of my FB friends (who don't know each other . . . (well two of them do)) to join me at Land Between the Lakes. If we find a better location we can go there. I also have a huge family. Many of whom may want to go. So Smyrna, Greenville and New York send me an e mail, tell me what you think.

or leave a comment here. (don't do it via Facebook. I don't want anyone to steal my idea and do it better than me).
I have yet to build one. How hard can it be?
Below are photos of crap that I did build.
